Progressive Immune Dysfunction
How many of us have all the energy and vitality we know we are capable of?
Yet, most people describe themselves as healthy--we tend to think of ourselves as healthy if we are able to go to work--if we don't get colds often and if we have not been diagnosed with a named disease. If we examine this chart, we see the gathering of symptoms as we age and are increasingly affected by environmental toxicity, lifestyle, poor diet, etc. As you can see, the results are cumulative and manifest in more serious dysfunctions as we age.
An interesting and alarming pattern is the increasing number of children and younger people with the more serious dysfunctions one would expect at older ages. Also, consider the number of new ailments that are haunting us: chronic fatigue, Epstein Barr, Fibromyalgia, Lupus, etc. We never used to hear about these maladies even 15 years ago. Now they are widespread in our population. This leads us to consider the elements we can control in preventative health care such as exercise, diet, working with emotions etc. and those we cannot control directly such as environmental toxins. It behooves us then, to take more active stand in researching those elements that can directly support our health.
An example is determining our metabolic profile to see what an ideal combination of foods would be and taking key supplements
that will support our bodies' natural defense system.
